The West Whins Case Study
In this project we investigate several approaches to address the issue of energy efficiency in smart grids for mini-district energy centres. This includes alternative controls, tariffs, component configurations or even technologies, all from a theoretical perspective. In order to test the functionality, reliability and efficiency of these proposed systems in real-life cases, it must be tested. For this reason, West Whins has been chosen to monitor, analyse and implement new methods and observe and evaluate the response of the real system to study the potential advantages or disadvantages.
